FAIRBANKS – The Alaska Nanooks men's basketball team is hosting a pair of scrimmages against the Seattle Mountaineers basketball team on Oct. 30 and 31, both games to be played at the Alaska Airlines Gymnasium at the Patty Center.

Free Admission
All fans are welcome to attend the scrimmages this weekend on Saturday, Oct. 30 at 7:00 p.m. and Sunday, Oct. 31 at 3:00 p.m. Attendance is FREE. Masks are required. 
 
Taking the Floor
The Nanooks unofficially open their season on Saturday, playing the Seattle Mountaineers in non-counting scrimmages. They'll play two games, the first at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 30 and the second at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 31. This will kick-off Coach Sparling's third season and fourth year in Fairbanks. He led the Nanooks to a 12-18, 10-10 GNAC record a year ago, taking them to the GNAC Championships for the first time since 2015-16. 
 
The Nanooks are led by 2019-20 Third Team All-American, Shadeed Shabazz, who is back for his senior season. He is joined by plenty of new faces, including Quin Barnard, a transfer-senior from the University of Washington and Coach Sparling's son, Coleman Sparling, who joins the Nanooks for his senior season after spending 2019-20 at the University of Texas – Arlington.
 
Dressed to Impress
Come out in your best costume as we'll have door prizes and in-game prizes for both the best dressed community member in attendance and student in the student-section! 
 
Canned Food Drive
Bring canned foods to Thursday's volleyball match, Saturday's volleyball and basketball games and the Sunday basketball game. We'll be accepting donations for the local food banks and it'll give you an opportunity to interact with our Nanooks athletes prior to each game! 
 
No Stream
There will be no stream for this weekend's games.
