Nanook Teams Post 3.46 GPA in 2020 Fall Semester

FAIRBANKS, Alaska – The Alaska Nanooks boasted a 3.46 combined term GPA for the fall of 2020. The 10-sport department included seven of their eight teams earning a 3.2 or higher in the fall, while women's Nordic ski and cross country running, volleyball, hockey and swim all cracked the 3.5 mark. 
 
Women's Nordic ski and cross country running led the teams, posting an impressive 3.84 term GPA. This success brings their team cumulative GPA to 3.82. Volleyball was close behind in the term, posting a 3.74, bringing their cumulative GPA to a 3.64. Hockey and swim rounded out the four teams with a 3.5+ in the fall of 2020. Hockey (3.62) brought their cumulative GPA to a 3.54 while swim (3.55) upped their cumulative to a 3.33. 
 
Rifle (3.48), men's Nordic ski and cross country running (3.42) and women's basketball (3.24) rounded out the list of teams over a 3.2 GPA. Men's basketball brought their cumulative GPA to a 2.79 following the 2020 fall semester rounding out the list for Nanook athletics. 
 
As a whole, male athlete teams finished the semester with a 3.39 GPA while female athlete teams finished with a 3.53 GPA. 
 
The spring semester will begin on Monday, Jan. 11 and run through finals week Apr. 27 through May 1 with commencement scheduled for May 1, 2021.
