FAIRBANKS – On Tuesday, the University of Alaska Fairbanks Office of Development and Alumni Relations announced the addition of Judy Dellinger, who will serve as the development officer for intercollegiate athletics. In this newly created role, Dellinger will work closely with the UAF Department of Athletics, the UAF Alumni Association and other key stakeholders to increase philanthropy for each of Alaska's 10 varsity sports.

"I am extremely thankful to have a talented and experienced professional such as Judy to lead our fundraising and development initiatives for athletics," UAF vice chancellor for student affairs and athletics
Dr. Keith Champagne said on Tuesday. "I believe this step is a game changer this department."
Dellinger, a longtime resident of Fairbanks and UAF alumna, is a welcome addition to the UAF Development and Alumni Relations office. A focused effort on diversifying revenue for intercollegiate athletics is a priority for UAF and the UA System leadership, with Dellinger's position playing a crucial role in future fundraising strategic plans.
"Nanook athletics instills a sense of pride and belonging in our community, whether that be as an athlete, spectator, booster, volunteer or donor," Dellinger said. "I'm honored to be part of building this community."
Dellinger will report directly to the Office of Development and Alumni Relations, but will be working closely with the athletics administrative staff and coaches to facilitate the execution of fundraising systems, develop new strategies, and identify and interact closely with key stakeholders and program ambassadors. Working in collaboration with the Alumni Relations team, Dellinger and the Alaska Nanooks staff will also look to create engaging interactions with former student-athletes.
Dellinger comes to UAF after serving as the executive and finance coordinator for Explore Fairbanks and the marketing consultant for JP Jones Community Center. Prior to that, Dellinger worked at Love Inc., a faith-based nonprofit located in Fairbanks, in several capacities including transportation coordinator, clearinghouse manager, development director and executive director, who focused on donors, program, and volunteer development.
With an extensive background in the Fairbanks nonprofit community, Dellinger also has previous ties with the Greater Fairbanks Area Habitat for Humanity and also served as a grant writer for the Cold Climate Housing Research Center, raising funds to help launch several programs including the Hybrid Micro-Energy Project.
Dellinger earned her bachelor's degree in Rural Development from UAF in 1994.
