ASPEN, Colo. – The Alaska Nanooks Nordic ski team was represented by
Lukash Platil at the RMISA Qualifying races this weekend. After partaking in the 10km Freestyle race on Saturday, Feb. 8, Platil competed in the 21km Classic Mass Start on Sunday, Feb. 9.
The race took place at the Snowmass Cross Country Ski Center in Aspen, Colo. and featured 45 racers. While four did not finish, the rest of the group began the race together, resulting in 41 timed finishers.
Lukash Platil, the lone Nanook racer at the event this weekend grabbed a 15
th place finish. His time of of 1:15:08.9 put him in the top-15 by just 0.3 seconds.
Platil will return to Fairbanks before the rest of the Nordic ski team heads back to Salt Lake City, Utah on Friday and Saturday, Feb. 14-15 for the University of Utah Invitational.
