Nanooks of the Week

Male: Alex Sommerfield, Men's Basketball – Sommerfield helped the Nanooks grab a big win over the top-GNAC team, the Seattle Pacific Falcons on Thursday, Jan. 30 with four three-pointers and 12 points.
Female: Jocelyn Gandara, Women's Basketball – Gandara put up 28 points on Saturday, Feb. 1 against Saint Martin's to help the 'Nooks win their second GNAC game of the season, moving them close to the final GNAC playoff spot.

Men's Basketball 8-12, 7-5 GNAC
LAST: vs. SPU, SMU (W, L) | NEXT: at WWU, at SFU
The Alaska Nanooks men's basketball team put together one of their best wins of the 2019-20 season, grabbing an 83-77 victory over the previously undefeated SPU Falcons. That win dropped the Falcons to 10-1 in GNAC play and seemed to push Alaska over the top as true playoff contenders. Unfortunately, the Nanooks fell on Saturday to the Saint Martin's Saints, 75-81, dropping them to the final spot in the GNAC playoff picture, putting them back in the must-win scenario. The Nanooks head to Bellingham, Wash. and Burnaby, B.C. this week to face-off with the Western Washington Vikings and Simon Fraser Clan.

Women's Basketball 7-14, 2-10 GNAC
