@NanooksWBB Ends Season on Road at Concordia and Western Oregon

FAIRBANKS, Alaska – The Alaska Nanooks women's basketball team hits the road after their final home games of the 2019-20 season. They will face the Concordia Cavaliers in Portland and the Wolves of Western Oregon in their last games of the season.

Last Time Out
Alaska comes off a two-game home stand in which they came up short against Western Washington and Simon Fraser. The first of the two games was close through three quarters but ultimately ended in defeat for the 'Nooks, 64-81. Jocelyn Gandara led the team in points and rebounds with 25 and 12.

In the second game of the Nanook's home appearance they played much better through the first half but a rough defensive showing in the third quarter found them behind and could not make the comeback, losing 52-76. Gandara finished with a team high 23 points with Kylie Wallace supporting her with 10 rebounds and seven points of her own.

Alaska's Stats
The Nanooks are in tenth place in the conference but in fifth place in the category of steals per game with 7.6 and three-point field goal percentage at .315. Alaska is also sixth in the GNAC for  offensive rebounding with 11.2 offensive boards per game. Jocelyn Gandara leads the conference in PPG averaging 19.0 and is fifth in RPG with 6.9. Sabrina Ungaro leads the 'Nooks in assists, averaging 3.1 per game.

Scouting the Opponents

Concordia Cavaliers
CU ranks last in 11 statistical categories in the GNAC including their scoring offense, free throw percentage, and field goal percentage and are in ninth place in the GNAC. Concordia's leading scorer is Dorcas Wu with 10.3 PPG who also leads the team in steals with 45 on the season, and the leading rebounder is Riley Friauf with 5.7 RPG.

Western Oregon Wolves
WOU is in last place in the GNAC and in three statistical categories and last in the standings in the GNAC. WOU's leading scorer and assist leader is Keyonna Jones with 11.0 PPG and 2.4 APG, and the leading rebounder is Shariah Green with 4.7 RPG.
