Female:Â Oda Bygdnes, Swim: Bygdnes was named the PCSC Swimmer of the Week last week after her performance against Pacific Lutheran University.Â

Male:Â Steven Jandric, Hockey: Jandric was named the WCHA Forward of the Week this week following his four-point weekend in which the 'Nooks swept Ferris State.

Men's Basketball 6-10, 5-3 GNAC

The Alaska Nanooks men's basketball team takes to the road again, this time to their in-state rival. Alaska will open up the week in Anchorage taking on the Seawolves on Tuesday, Jan. 21 at 7:00 p.m. After their 45 minute flight south, the Nanooks will then head to Billings, Mont. for a matchup with the Yellowjackets on Saturday, Jan. 25. The Nanooks will look to get back to their GNAC-winning ways after grabbing a much-needed win in Ellensburg, Wash. on Jan. 18. Prior to the victory, Alaska fell at the hands of NNU on Jan. 16.

Women's Basketball 6-11, 1-7 GNAC
LAST: vs. UAA, MSUB (L, L) | NEXT: at SFU, WWU
The Alaska Nanooks women's basketball will head to Vancouver, B.C. and Bellingham, Wash. this week to take on the Simon Fraser Clan and Western Washington Vikings. The 'Nooks begin their road trip against the lone-Canadian NCAA institution on Jan. 23 before heading to the lower-48 to take on WWU on Jan. 25. Alaska is coming off of a tough week against UAA and MSUB. Against UAA, the Nanooks were tied at 39 at halftime before the Seawolves grabbed a 12-point win in Fairbanks. As for the MSUB matchup, the Nanooks grabbed a one-point lead before the Yellowjackets connected on the game-winning three with 1.1 seconds on the clock.Â

Hockey 13-12-1, 11-8-1-0 WCHA
LAST: at Ferris State (W, W) | NEXT: vs. Northern Michigan
The Alaska Nanooks hockey team is coming off of their most successful weekend since Oct. 11-12 when they swept the Michigan Tech Huskies. This time, on the road, the 'Nooks went to Ferris State and grabbed a big sweep, improving them to 11-8-1-0 in the WCHA. In game one, the Nanooks grabbed a 2-0 victory behind
Anton Martinsson's fifth career shutout.
Steven Jandric grabbed the game-winning goal and
Tyler Cline put the game away late with an empty-netter. In game two, Martinsson was strong in net once again, stopping 34 shots in the Nanooks 6-3 win. Northern Michigan comes to town this weekend as the 'Nooks will play on Friday, Jan. 24 at 7:07 p.m. before a 5:07 p.m. start on Saturday night.Â

Nordic Ski
LAST: at Colorado Invite | NEXT: at Denver Invite
The Alaska Nanooks Nordic ski team is coming off of their first team event of the year. After their U.S. National Ski Championships to begin the year, the 'Nooks went to the University of Colorado Invite and finished fourth and fifth overall in the men's and women's category of Nordic skiing. This upcoming weekend, Jan. 25-26, Alaska will head to the Denver Invite and compete in both the men's and women's races.Â
