STEAMBOAT, Colo. – The Alaska Nanooks Nordic ski team wrapped up their weekend at the Colorado Invite with the men holding on to a fourth place finish and the women grabbing a fifth place finish. 
 
In the men's race, Mike Ophoff and Lukash Platil led the way, finishing in 11^th and 13^th place with times of 59:36.2 and 1:00:30.5. Close behind came Logan Mowry and Tristan Sayre, finishing in 16^th and 17^th place with 1:00:46.1 and 1:01:02.4 as their finishing times. Ophoff, Platil and Mowry were the three Nanooks to grab points in the team portion of the race, collecting 22-20-18. Christopher Kalev and Karl Danielson were the last two 'Nooks to cross the finish line with times of 1:03:31.4 and 1:06:19.2. 
 
On the women's side, Mariel Pulles once again led the Nanooks. Pulles finished eighth overall with a time of 50:34.9, just a minute and a half behind the winner. Anja Maijala was the next Alaska racer to finish, grabbing a 17^th place finish with a time of 54:19.7. Hannah Deuling was close behind, finishing 22^nd with a time of 54:49.4. The final three Nanooks were Sarah Olson, Catherine Reed-Metayer and Maggie Meeds who finished in 25^th, 26^th and 28^th. 
 
The Nanooks next head to Denver for the University of Denver Invite next weekend on Jan. 25-26.
