FAIRBANKS, Alaska – University of Alaska Fairbanks Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs and Athletics Dr. Keith Champagne has officially announced the addition of Jon Dryver, who will serve as the assistant coach for the Alaska Nanooks men's and women's cross country running teams. Dryver's first day with the Nanooks was Sept. 6.

In his new position, Dryver will assist the Alaska men's and women's cross country running teams in their daily practices, help plan training schedules, execute race day strategies and aid administratively.

Dryver ran cross country for fellow Great Northwest Athletic Conference member, Western Washington University, for two seasons.

Dryver earned his associate of arts degree from Peninsula College in Port Angeles, Washington, where he was also a member of their men's soccer team.

Before joining the ranks of the Alaska Nanooks, Dryver served and is currently still employed as a foreman with Johnson River Enterprises in Fairbanks.

The Alaska Nanooks men's and women's cross country running teams will be back in action on Friday, Sept. 20, as they prepare to compete in the Sundowner Invitational, hosted by Western Oregon in Monmouth, Oregon.
