Former @NanooksRifle Standout Schnering Named @AlaskaNanooks Ticketing Office Manager

FAIRBANKS, Alaska – University of Alaska Fairbanks Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs and Athletics Dr. Keith Champagne has officially announced the addition of JT Schnering, who will serve as the Alaska Nanooks Ticket Office Manager. Schnering's first day with the Nanooks was Thursday, Aug. 22.

11003A hometown product of Fairbanks, Schnering was a four-year member of the Alaska Nanooks coed rifle team from 2015-19. Schnering made four consecutive appearances at the NCAA Rifle National Championships representing the Nanooks and was a three-time All-American selection.

This past spring, Schnering was named the Alaska Nanooks Department of Athletics' Most Outstanding Male Athlete of the Year after placing fourth individually in air rifle at the NCAA National Championships.

"We are honored that JT, a former Nanooks rifle standout, has chosento join Nanook Athletics," Champagne said. "JT is the epitome of what our program is about, excellence, success and family."

Schnering was a student worker for the Alaska Nanooks Department of Athletics for the past three years, assisting with day-to-day and event operations in the Alaska Nanooks Ticketing Office and within the facility.

In his new position, Schnering will work closely with Alaska's Sports Information and Marketing Offices to drive single-game and season ticket sales, streamline the game day ticketing line, assist with pass lists and enhance the game day experience.

Over the summer, Schnering was an assistant camp director for the Civilian Marksmanship Program in Anniston, Alabama.

Schnering graduated from UAF in May with a bachelor's of science degree in psychology and is currently working toward another UAF degree in sports and recreation business with a concentration in sport management.
