2019 Volleyball Schedule

FAIRBANKS, Alaska – The 2019 Alaska Nanooks volleyball season will unofficially begin this Friday, Aug. 23 with their annual Blue vs. Gold match, where the team will be split into two teams and battle for intrasquad supremacy.

The scrimmage will be one of two for the Nooks, as the team will soon face some Alaska Nanooks volleyball alumni on Saturday, Aug. 31. Both matches are set for a 7pm AKT start at the Alaska Airlines Court at the Patty Center and is free to the public.

Head coach Brian Scott returns for his fifth season with the Nanooks, while new assistant coach and Nanook volleyball alumni Meagan Olsen enters her first season.

The Alaska Nanooks had a historic 2018 season, posting an overall record of 14-13, going 12-8 in conference play. Alaska's 14 wins overall is the most within a single-season under Scott and also marks the most overall wins and the first winning season since the 2008 campaign (15-10).

Furthermore, Alaska's 12 conference wins is the most since the 2003 season (13-5 GNAC).

Alaska returns 10 players and welcomes four newcomers.
