BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – Six members of the Alaska Nanooks hockey team were recognized for their academic success on Tuesday, as the American Hockey Coaches Association released their 2018-19 Division I Krampade All-American Scholars list.
Sophomore forward
Max Newton is the only repeat selection, while sophomore forward
Brennan Blaszczak, freshman forward
Caleb Hite, senior defenseman
Nikolas Koberstein, freshman defenseman
Jordan Muzzillo and sophomore netminder
Tony Rehm each earned their first recognition by the AHCA.
To be eligible for the selection, a student-athlete must have a 3.6 GPA each semester and participate in 40 percent of his or her school's games, with exceptions for medical reasons and goaltenders.
Of the 10 teams in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association's men's league, the Nanooks accounted for six of 66 selections, with in-state rival Alaska Anchorage leading all teams with 11 selections.

The Alaska Nanooks hockey team officially kicks-off the 2019-20 season with a two-game nonconference series at home against the University of Denver on Saturday, Oct. 5 at the Carlson Center. Puck-drop is set for 7:07 p.m. AKT.
