FAIRBANKS, Alaska – The Alaska Nanooks women's basketball team dropped a Great Northwest Athletic Conference contest to in-state rival Alaska Anchorage on Tuesday night, falling 88-43 at the Alaska Airlines Court. The loss drops Alaska's overall record to 3-16 and 0-13 in GNAC play, while the Seawolves improve to 20-1 overall and 12-1 in league matchups.
Coach's Comments
"We turned the ball over way too much and it's pretty hard to win a basketball game when they put up 30 more shots than you do, regardless of how you play. We lose our composure a little bit due to frustration in the first half, which I think put us into a hole and then too many second chance opportunities for them. We had our moments of playing some really good defense for 28 seconds and then they would get on the board, it was a little deflating. We can't do all those things and expect to beat a time that's ranked within the top-15 in the country." – head coach
Kerri Nakamoto said on Tuesday.
