FAIRBANKS, Alaska – A third-quarter lapse ended up being costly for the Alaska Nanooks women's basketball team on Thursday night, as the Nooks fell 77-50 to the Central Washington Wildcats in a Great Northwest Athletic Conference contest at the Alaska Airlines Court. The loss drops Alaska's overall record to 4-21 and 1-18 in conference play, while the Wildcats improve to 17-9 on the season and 12-7 in GNAC games.
Coach's Comments
"It's tough for us to give up 77 points, it was a quick game so I think scoring-wise, it was hard for us to produce that amount of points so we have to do a better job defensively not allowing people to score that much against us. Some of that came from miscommunications on switching and some other transition stuff. I thought offensively, we didn't knock down enough shots in the second half. I'm not sure if that was a fatigue thing or not but we'll look to finish strong on Saturday."
