FAIRBANKS, Alaska – The Alaska Nanooks have announced the addition of Kei Flechsing to the training staff. Flechsing joins the 'Nooks immediately and will be assisting
Mike Curtin in the athletic department training room.
Prior to Fairbanks, Flechsing worked at the University of Alaska Anchorage from September 2017 to 2019. While at UAA, Flechsing was an assistant athletic trainer who provided medical care for the women's volleyball team, women's gymnastics team, men's and women's basketball, men's and women's track and field and cross-country and both men's and women's ski teams.
Prior to Alaska, Flechsing worked from 2014-17 as an intern and graduate assistant athletic trainer at NCAA DI program, Fresno State. She held primary responsibility for the Bulldogs' women's equestrian and men's and women's tennis teams.
Flechsing earned her Master of Arts in Kinesiology from Fresno State in May 2017 with an emphasis on Sports Phychology. Prior to the masters' program, she obtained a bachelor's degree in Athletic Training from the University of Central Arkansas in 2014.

Dr. Keith Champagne had this to say about the addition of Flechsing to the Nanooks family, "We are honored to have a professional such as Kei, join teh Nanooks Athletic Department with her passion, expertise, experience and comprehensive athletics training, sports science and wellness background."
Kei, originally from Japan, moved to the United States to study after high school. She is a member of the National Athletic Trainers Association (NATA) and has been a certified athletic trainer since 2014. She is also certified as a Graston Technique M1-level practitioner and as of 2019, she is certified in the Mulligan Concept Upper Quarter.
