The Alaska Nanooks volleyball team dropped their first Great Northwest Athletic Conference contest at home last week, falling 2-3 to Northwest Nazarene before rebounding on Saturday to earn a five-set victory over Central Washington at home. Alaska will hit the road for the first time in two weeks, taking on the Western Oregon Wolves in Monmouth on Thursday before facing the Concordia Cavaliers in Portland on Saturday. The Nooks currently sit tied for second in the GNAC standings with a 5-1 conference record.

The Alaska Nanooks hockey team kicked-off the 2019-20 season last weekend, falling victim to a sweep at home against the No. 2 Denver Pioneers at the Carlson Center. The Nooks fell 4-3 on Saturday before being shutout 3-0 on Sunday. Alaska will head to Houghton, Michigan to take on the Michigan Tech Huskies in a two-game Western Collegiate Hockey Association series this Friday, Oct. 11 and Saturday, Oct. 12 at the MacInnes Student Ice Arena. Puck-drop on Friday is set for 3:07 p.m. AKT, while Saturday is slated for 2:07 p.m. AKT.

LAST WEEK: Idle | THIS WEEK: vs. Ohio State (Oct. 11), vs. TCU (Oct. 13)
The Alaska Nanooks coed rifle team will host their final home matches of the season this week, taking on the Ohio State University Buckeyes on Friday, Oct. 11 before facing the defending-national champions in Texas Christian University on Sunday, Oct. 13. Both matches will take place at the E.F. Horton Rifle Range located on the ground floor of the Patty Center. Sunday's match will honor Alaska's two seniors, Amy Gentry and Grace Nelson.
