Last Time Out
The last time the Alaska Nanooks volleyball team was on the court, they were finishing off a five-set comeback win over the Montana State, Billings volleyball team on Sept. 26. Before their 3-2 victory over MSUB, the Nanooks took on and defeated their in-state rival, Alaska Anchorage and won in four sets. After dropping the first set, Alaska stormed back and took the next three sets for the win. NNU is coming off of a split against Saint Martin's and Seattle Pacific. They took the SMU match, 3-1 but dropped the SPU matchup 1-3. CWU on the other hand is coming off of sweeps of both SMU and SPU and are 3-1 in GNAC play.

Where to Watch & Listen
If fans aren't able to make this week and weekends games at the Patty Center, each of the Nanooks' games will be broadcast through Alaska's Stretch Internet Portal. The links for both stats and live video will be available above.

All-Time Series
Alaska against Northwest Nazarene is down in the all-time series, losing 21 games and only winning five. The Nanooks took the first ever matchup in 2006, defeating the then-Crusaders, in five-sets. The Nanooks also won the last matchup in 2018 following the name change for NNU, defeating the Nighthawks in five-sets again, 3-2.
Central owns the all-time series against Alaska, as the Nanooks trail 3-23 all-time versus the Wildcats. CWU won the first meeting, 3-1 over Alaska in 2006 and also won the last meeting in 2018, a 3-0 sweep of the 'Nooks.

Whiting & Nanooks Awarded
The Nanooks volleyball team was awarded the GNAC Team of the Week this week following their two victories last week. Following the wins over UAA and MSUB, the 'Nooks record improved to 4-0 in GNAC play, the best start in program history. Jr., setter, Cate Whiting was also awarded the GNAC Offensive Player of the Week after her 77 assist, 21 dig, 11 kill, eight ace and five block week. Whiting was also awarded the AVCA DII Player of the Week thanks to her performance a week ago. This was Whiting's second AVCA Weekly Award of her career and her first GNAC/AVCA award of the 2019 season.

Coaches Corner
Head coach Brian Scott had this to say about the upcoming games, "We have two great competitors this week. Both teams are very well coaches and capable of playing great volleyball. We have had some battles with NNU while I've been here. Many of our matches going five sets over the past couple years.
