PORTLAND, Ore. – The Alaska Nanooks women's basketball team fell in Great Northwest Athletic Conference action on Thursday night, dropping a 77-51 decision to the Concordia Cavaliers at the LCEF Court. The loss drops the Nanooks to 3-10 overall and 0-7 in conference play, while the Cavaliers improve to 7-8 on the season and 2-5 in league matchups.

"Our lack of consistent play hurt us tonight. We played well in spurts but any time we didn't execute offensively, our defensive play cost us. We didn't take care of the ball well enough tonight. We will look to improve upon that on Saturday at Western Oregon." – head coach

- Alaska shot 40.4 percent from the floor (21-for-52), 5.9 percent from outside (1-for-17) and 50 percent from the free throw line (8-for-16)
- The Nooks pulled down 12 offensive rebounds and 26 defensive rebounds for a total of 38 boards.

Alaska Leaders
- Senior forward Marian Wamsley led all Alaska players in scoring on Thursday, picking up 13 points.
- Wamsley shot 4-for-11 from the floor and 5-for-5 from the free throw line, while also chipping in a team-best nine rebounds, one assist and one block in 28 minutes on the floor.
- Junior forward Kylie Wallace was the only other Alaska player to record double-digit points on Thursday, picking up 11.
- Redshirt-junior guard Sabrina Ungaro led all Alaska players in assists and steals with three and two, respectively.

The Alaska Nanooks women's basketball team will continue GNAC play on the road, taking on the Western Oregon Wolves on Saturday, Jan. 19 at the New P.E. Building in Monmouth, Oregon. Tip-off is set for 1pm AKST.
