FAIRBANKS, Alaska – The Alaska Nanooks women's basketball team returns to the Alaska Airlines Court this weekend by hosting the 2018 Mt. McKinley State Bank North Star Invitational this Thursday, Nov. 22 through Saturday, Nov. 24. The Invitational will feature Gannon University and the University of Tampa.

North Star Invitational Breakdown
This year's NSI will feature only three teams, making it a crossover tournament with no defined winner, runner-up or loser. There will be an All-Tournament Team and Tournament MVP announced after the final game on Saturday, Nov. 24.

Ticketing Promotion
On Friday only, the Alaska Nanooks Ticketing Office is offering free admission to any active or retired military members and their dependents if they show a valid military identification card at the door.
Last Time Out
The Alaska Nanooks women's basketball team continued nonconference play last weekend at the Seawolf Hoops Classic, hosted by in-state rival Alaska Anchorage. The Nanooks won their third-straight game against Cal State Dominguez Hills 65-61 on Friday before earning their first loss of the season on Saturday to the Cal State East Bay Pioneers, 63-57.
Wallace Named to Seawolf Hoops Classic All-Tournament Team
For the second-straight week, Alaska Nanooks women's basketball's junior forward
Kylie Wallace was named to an All-Tournament Team, this time for the Seawolf Hoops Classic in Anchorage. Wallace was the lone Alaska Nanooks representative on the team. Throughout the two-day tournament, Wallace combined for 36 points, shooting 12-for-15 from the floor and 12-for-13 from the free throw line, while also picking up 17 rebounds, five assists and two steals.
All-Time Series
The Alaska Nanooks and the Gannon Knights have only met on one occasion, which resulted in a 105-54 loss for the Alaska Nanooks at home on Nov. 26, 2009.
Saturday's meeting between the Alaska Nanooks and the Tampa Spartans will be the first between the two in program history.
