@NanooksWBB Wins Third-Straight at Seawolf Hoops Classic

ANCHORAGE, Alaska – The Alaska Nanooks women's basketball team remains undefeated by rolling to another nonconference victory on Friday afternoon, taking down the Cal State Dominguez Hills Toros 65-61 in the opening game of the Seawolf Hoops Classic at the Alaska Airlines Center in Anchorage. The Nanooks improve to 3-0 on the season while CSU earns their first loss of the season, dropping to 2-1.

  • The Nanooks shot 43.9 percent from the field (25-for-57), 35.7 percent from three-point range (5-for-14) and 76.9 percent from the free throw line (10-for-13).
  • Alaska was outshot in the first two quarters 13-12 and 18-15 but came back in the second half, outscoring their opponent 19-12 and 19-18 in the third and fourth quarters, respectively.
  • Alaska pulled down nine offensive and 27 defensive boards, totaling 36 rebounds throughout the night.

  • Junior guard Kylie Wallace led Alaska's offense on Friday, scoring a game-high 20 points.
    • Wallace shot 8-for-16 from the floor, going 4-for-5 from the free throw line, while also chipping in seven rebounds, four assists and one steal.
  • Senior forward Marian Wamsley followed Wallace's lead with 13 points, shooting 6-for-9 from the field and 1-for-2 from the free throw line.
  • Nanooks senior guard Emily Evans was the only other Alaska player to tally double-digit points on Friday, shooting 3-for-6 from the floor with each of her three buckets coming from beyond the arc, and 2-for-2 from the free throw line for 11 points.
  • Senior guard Angela Murnion led all players with six assists.
  • Senior forward Ashlie Blackburn was the only Alaska player to register double-digit rebounds, pulling down four offensive and seven defensive boards for 11 rebounds total.
