BILLINGS, Mont. – The Alaska Nanooks women's basketball team fell 86-56 in their lone Great Northwest Athletic Conference contest of the week to the Montana State Billings Yellowjackets at the Alterowitz Gymnasium on Thursday evening. The Nooks fall to 4-8 overall and 0-6 in conference play, while the Yellowjackets improve to 11-4 on the season and 4-1 in league matchups.

Turning Point
The Yellowjackets came out hot on their home court, putting up 12 points against the Nanooks in the first quarter before Alaska was able to get on the board at the 6:33 mark.
Inside the Box Score
- Junior forward Ashlie Blackburn tallied a career-best 17 points against MSUB, shooting 8-for-13 from the floor and 1-for-2 from the free throw line.
- Blackburn also registered a team-best seven assists in her 26 minutes on the court.
- Sophomore guard Lexi Carpenter was the only other Nook to score double-digit points on Thursday, shooting 4-for-15 from the floor and 2-for-8 from behind the arc to tally 10 points.
- Junior forward Angela Murnion led her teammates in assists with two and steals with four.
- As a team, Alaska shot 32.7 percent from the floor (18-for-55), 15.8 percent from three-point range (3-for-19) and 73.9 percent from the free throw line (17-for-23).
- The Nooks picked up nine offensive and 27 defensive boards to total 36 rebounds on the night, while also chipping in eight steals and seven assists.
Next Time Out
The Alaska Nanooks will return home to Fairbanks tomorrow and continue GNAC play next week, as they host the Concordia Cavaliers on Thursday, Jan. 11 before facing the Western Oregon Wolves on Saturday, Jan. 13 at the Alaska Airlines Court. Tip-off on Thursday is scheduled for 7pm AKST, while Saturday's contest will take place at 1pm AKST.
