After over a month-long hiatus, the Alaska Nanooks men's and women's Nordic ski teams officially get back into get back into gear this week, participating in the U.S. Cross Country Skiing National Championships this Wednesday (Jan. 3), Friday (Jan. 5), Sunday (Jan. 7) and next Monday (Jan. 8) at Kincaid Park in Anchorage, Alaska. Furthermore, Wednesday and Friday's races will qualify toward the Rocky Mountain Intercollege Ski Association standings.
WOMEN'S BASKETBALL | 4-7 Overall, 0-5 GNAC
LAST WEEK: 0-2 | THIS WEEK: at Montana State Billings (Jan. 4)
After falling to the Western Washington Vikings and the Simon Fraser Clan in two Great Northwest Athletic Conference games on the road last week, the Alaska Nanooks women's basketball team will continue conference play with a lone Thursday matchup against the MSUB Yellowjackets at the Alterowitz Gymnasium in Billings. Tip-off is slated for 5pm AKST.

After finishing off the first-half of the season with a conference split at Concordia (81-66) and Western Oregon (60-81), the Alaska Nanooks men's basketball team returns to their home court to host the Seattle Pacific Falcons on Thursday, Jan. 4 before facing the Saint Martin's Saints on Saturday, Jan. 6. Thursday's GNAC matchup is scheduled for 7pm AKST, while Saturday's game is slated for 2pm AKST.

The Alaska Nanooks return to the Carlson Center this weekend, hosting the Alabama-Huntsville Chargers in a two-game Western Collegiate Hockey Association series this Friday, Jan. 5 and Saturday, Jan. 6. Puck-drop both nights is scheduled for 7:07pm AKST.

Military Appreciation Promotions
The Alaska Nanooks Ticketing Office will be offering discounted ticketing specials for military members and their dependents throughout the next two weeks. All military and their dependents will get in free (with valid military ID) to Alaska men's basketball games on Thursday, Jan. 4 (vs. SPU at 7pm AKST) and Saturday, Jan. 6 (vs. SMU at 2pm AKST) and Alaska women's basketball games next week on Jan. 11 (vs. CU at 7pm AKST) and Jan. 13 (vs. WOU at 1pm AKST), while military can buy one ticket, get one ticket free for both Alaska hockey games this weekend (Jan. 5-6) vs. Alabama-Huntsville.

On Saturday, the Alaska Nanooks announced that Nanook hockey's junior defenseman
Jack Weiss will miss the remainder of the 2017-18 season to undergo chemotherapy treatment for testicular cancer. The Alaska Nanooks will keep supporters informed with updates and information on how you can support Weiss throughout the upcoming months. Use the hashtag #StickIt2Cancer to support Jack and his fight.

All Alaska Nanooks volleyball, men's and women's basketball games (home and away) can be followed through the Alaska Nanooks Stretch Internet Portal free of charge. Fans can follow the games through the live stream, live stats or both.
All Alaska Nanook hockey games (home and away) can be heard live through ESPN 820AM Fairbanks or online at 820sports.com. Additionally, fans have the option to watch the games live for a small fee on WCHA.tv.
