FAIRBANKS, Alaska – The Alaska Nanooks women's basketball team hits the road for a pair of Great Northwest Athletic Conference matchups this week, taking on the Seattle Pacific Falcons on Thursday, Jan. 18 before facing the Saint Martin's Saints on Saturday, Jan. 20. Thursday's game in Seattle is slated for 6:30pm AKST, while Saturday's contest in Lacey, Washington is scheduled for 6pm AKST.

Last Time Out
The Alaska Nanooks suffered a GNAC sweep at home last week, falling 74-47 to the Concordia Cavaliers on Thursday before dropping Saturday's contest 74-54 to the Western Oregon Wolves.

The Alaska Nanooks women's basketball team is still hunting for their first GNAC win of the season, as they hold an 0-8 record in league contests. The Nooks currently sit in 11th place in the GNAC standings, only one win behind weekend opponent Saint Martin's (1-7).

Scouting the Opponent – Seattle Pacific Falcons (12-3, 6-2 GNAC)
Seattle Pacific improves its win streak to three games last week after defeating Western Washington 75-63 on Thursday and Simon Fraser 74-63 on Saturday. Senior forward Courtney Hollander paced the Falcons' offense with 15.5 points per game over the two conference games last week. SPU has dominated the defensive glass this season and leads the GNAC with 28.1 defensive boards per game. The Falcons lead the GNAC by allowing just 60.4 points per game, while averaging 71.8 points per game as a team. The Falcons are one of five GNAC teams included in this week's D2SIDA West Region Poll, ranking as No. 4.
Scouting the Opponent – Saint Martin's Saints (5-11, 1-7 GNAC)
The Saints suffered their seventh-straight defeat after taking a 71-52 loss to Simon Fraser before falling to Western Washington 69-58. Freshman guard Saniah Simpson-Patu led the Saints over the weekend, averaging 18 points over the two conference contests. Saint Martin's is currently averaging 64.4 points per game and is limiting opponents to 28.5 percent from behind the arc. The Saints also rank sixth in the GNAC with 26.4 defensive rebounds per game.
