@NanooksMBB Downs Cal Miramar 102-73 in Exhibition Contest

FAIRBANKS, Alaska – The Alaska Nanooks men's basketball team defeated the Cal Miramar University Falcons 102-73 in an exhibition contest at the Alaska Airlines Court on Saturday night. Since the matchup was an exhibition, the game does not count toward Alaska's overall record or the season statistics.

"I'm very pleased with how we played tonight," head coach Mick Durham said on Saturday. "We worked on some things and looked at a few different lineups. Our 24 assists is something I'm particularly proud of, which led to a good shooting percentage."

Four Nooks scored double-digit figures tonight, led by junior forward Alex Baham, who recorded a game-high 27 points. The Wasilla, Alaska native shot 9-for-13 from the field, including seven three-pointers, and 2-for-3 from the free throw line in 24 minutes on the court.

Junior guard Davis Kimble followed Baham's lead, collecting 18 points on the night by shooting 6-for-10 from the field, 4-for-6 from three-point range and 2-for-5 from the free throw line. Kimble also recorded a game-best seven assists in his 23 minutes on the floor.

Junior guard Amenofis Mitchell and sophomore forward Joe Lendway also scored double-digit points against the Falcons, collecting 12 points and 10 points, respectively. Lendway led all Alaska players in rebounding, tallying six on the night.

As a team, the Nooks shot 57.6 percent from the field (34-for-59), 51.6 percent from three-point range (16-for-31) and 62.1 percent from the free throw line (18-for-29). Alaska corralled 36 rebounds against the Falcons, 24 assists and 10 steals.

The Alaska Nanooks will be back in Great Northwest Athletic Conference action next Sunday, Dec. 17, as they travel to Portland, Oregon to face the Concordia Cavaliers at 4pm AKST.
