Tica scored a game-high 22 points on 10 of 17 shooting to earn the Jamboree's Player of the Game honor.
Senior guard
Nico Matthews (Twenty Nine Palms, Calif./College of the Desert) and junior guard
Dominique Brinson (Juneau, Alaska/College of the Redwoods) both tallied 16 points, while freshmen
Jesse Ward (North Pole, Alaska/North Pole) and
Daniel Shaw (Cambridge, England/Moulton College) contributed 12 and 10 points, respectively. Matthews also dished out a career-high nine assists and was one rebound shy of a double-double, with nine. Brinson also had a career-best six dimes.
“We had balanced scoring again and had a big lift off the bench from
Daniel Shaw and
Jesse Ward, both getting in double-figure scoring,” Durham said. “[Stefan] gave everybody confidence tonight. He was aggressive in going to the rim and hit a couple threes, but he and
Nico Matthews were definitely leading us. Matthews' stat line for the whole weekend was pretty unbelievable.”

“Anyone you talk about your conference opener, you want to get off to a good start,” Durham said. “We're going to look forward to a good week, we want to get better for this weekend, but we know what's at stake and know who we're playing. They saw us this week and we saw them, so we're going to be ready to go.”
