The Nanooks volleyball team earned its first conference win Thursday night with a 3-0 (34-32, 25-22, 26-24) finish against Saint Martin's.
The first set set the tone of the night. Neither team could break away, and the largest lead was a 20-16 mark held by Saint Martin's. The Nanooks responded with three consecutive and never let up.
They led by as much as four points in each of the final two sets.
Marybeth Wikander finished with 16 kills, a .519 hitting percentage and three service aces.
Tereza Bendlova followed with 13 kills.
Mandy Grierson notched 37 assists and eight kills.
The Nanooks finished with 76 total digs.
Jennifer Holland led with a season-high 17. Bendlova finished with 15,
Jordyn Montgomery with 11 and Grierson with 10.
With the win, the Nanooks improve to 3-4 (1-1 GNAC).
The Nanooks head to Western Oregon Saturday for a 6 p.m. match with the Wolves (3-3, 1-0).
