Box Score]
The Alaska volleyball team dropped its third straight match and the second this season to Western Oregon, 3-1 (21-25, 23-25, 25-19, 22-25). With the loss, the Nanooks fall to 6-17 (4-13 GNAC) with one match remaining.
Tereza Bendlova put up big numbers for Alaska—not all of them positive. She led with 18 kills and finished with 18 digs. On the flipside, she committed 13 errors and finished with a meek .098 hitting percentage.
Only
Jennifer Holland gave the team more digs—23. She also finished with two service aces.
The Nanooks played tighter volleyball towards the end of the fourth set in an attempt to swing momentum. They were tied as late as 20-20 and got within two points of the Wolves at 22-24, but the game ended on an Alaska attack error.
Alaska plays its last match of the season at home this Saturday at 5 p.m. This year's seniors, Bendlova and
Erica Gage, will be honored by the team with its Senior Day.
