The Alaska volleyball team started slow, but battled with conference newcomers Simon Fraser through five sets. In the end, the Nanooks fell 3-2 and dropped to 5-12 (3-8 GNAC).
The highlight of the night was set four, when the Nanooks evened the score with a 25-15 set win. It included a six-point run and three kills by
Simone Chavous.
Chavous,
Erica Gage and
Jordyn Montgomery each finished the night with 12 kills.
Allison Oddy led with 15 digs, followed by
Tereza Bendlova with 13 and Chavous with 12.
The Nanooks travel to Western Washington Saturday for a 6 p.m. matchup.
