Nathan Pearsall enters his seventh year as the Sports Information Director for the Alaska Nanooks athletic department in 2025-26, after first joining the staff on Sept. 16, 2019.

In his role, Pearsall oversees all statistical operations for men’s and women’s basketball, hockey, and volleyball, managing the distribution of in-game stats to coaches, officials, and media. Alongside statistics, he directs the Nanooks’ communication and media efforts, including social media, press releases, feature stories, and pre- and post-game interviews. He also works closely with marketing, community engagement, and ticketing to increase the visibility of Nanook Athletics, drive ticket sales, and support corporate sponsorships. Additionally, Pearsall manages AlaskaNanooks.com, serving as the primary writer and content coordinator for game coverage and department news.

Since arriving in Fairbanks, Pearsall has overseen major growth in Nanook Athletics’ digital presence. He has led the expansion of the Alaska Nanooks YouTube channel, the program’s former primary streaming platform, and was instrumental in creating the court-sports video replay system for volleyball and basketball. He also developed the department’s first full-time rifle streaming operation, producing nearly every match in 2021-22 and 2022-23, and launched the first full season of NCAA rifle broadcasts in 2022-23. In February 2025, Pearsall spearheaded the Everything College Hockey connection for the Nanooks hockey feature and helped rebrand the Nanook Hall of Fame as chair of the Class of 2025 following its COVID-related hiatus.

Beyond Alaska, Pearsall is an active member of College Sports Communicators (CSC). He served as chair of the D2CSC West Region Women’s Basketball Committee in 2024-25, earning a national vote, and has also contributed as a voting member on the D2CSC Men’s and Women’s polls in previous years.

A native of Bellingham, Wash., Pearsall began his career as a Sports Information Intern at Saint Martin’s University from 2018-19 after playing one season of baseball for the Saints in 2018. He graduated from SMU in May 2019 with a bachelor’s degree in communication and a minor in business administration.
