Smith, a 6'3" middle, joins Alaska after a decorated career at Wichita Trinity Academy, establishing herself as one of the top blockers in Kansas Class 3A. She earned Second Team All-State and First Team All-League honors as a junior in 2024, leading her team to a 29-5 record with undefeated league and regional championships while posting a .331 hitting percentage—ranking first in her league and 35th in the state. Smith led her league in blocks for three consecutive years, finishing No. 11 in Kansas 3A in total blocks as a junior, and earned multiple all-tournament selections, including MVP of the Trinity Academy Tournament, along with recognition on the 2024 KVCA Phenom List.

She also earned Second Team All-League honors as a sophomore while finishing sixth in the state in blocks, and was an All-League Honorable Mention selection as a freshman, leading her league in blocks and ranking among the top blockers statewide.
