Townsend ran for Redondo Union. She ran both cross country and track & field and Townsend was a Scholar-Athlete her sophomore through senior years, while also earning RUHS honor roll all four years. The RUHS Girls XC team was awarded a certificate of recognition for their outstanding achievement for qualifying for the CA State Championship in 2023. From 2021-23, she was awarded the RUHS Academic Letter for four consecutive semesters with a 3.5+ GPA.

Daughter of Niki and Tim ... Her grandfather, Skip (Garold) Townsend, played football at the University of Arizona from 1960-61 ... Devyn is studying wildlife biology and conservation.
