Before returning to Fairbanks to join the Nanooks, Sorenson spent three seasons with the Gophers at Minnesota in the Big Ten. He played in 100 games with the Gophers, scoring 15 goals and tallying seven assists for 22 points in his three years. He was a part of the 2020-21 Big Ten Championship team and went to two NCAA Tournaments, including the 2021-22 Frozen Four.Â
Fairbanks Ice Dogs (NAHL)
Sorenson played for the Ice Dogs in the NAHLÂ during the 2018-19 and in 60 games with Fairbanks, he scored 17 goals while assisting on 39 others for 56 points. He had a +13 on the ice and had 26 penalty minutes in the regular-season. In the playoffs, Sorenson skated in 10 games, scoring nine goals and tallying six assists for 15 points. He had 12 penalty minutes and had a +13 on the ice in the playoffs.Â
