2011-12 as a junior: Averaged a 576.3 in air rifle and a 572.2 in smallbore...Had a season-best 584 in air rifle during the NCAA Qualifiers...Charted a season-high 577 in smallbore at Texas Christian...Finished season at NCAA Qualifiers where Franz shot 584 in air rifle and 573 in smallbore.

2010-11 as a sophmore: Helped the Nanooks in their win against Tennessee-Martin with a 575 in smallbore and a 572 in air rifle in the second match; shot a 566 in smallbore and a 575 in air rifle in the win against Citadel; finished with a 574 in smallbore against Jacksonville State; at the NCAA Qualifiers, Franz finished out his season with a 569 in smallbore and a 578 in air rifle.

2009-10 as a freshman: As a freshman, Franz started out his season with  579 in air rifle and a 568 in smallbore individually against UTEP; shot a pair of 581s in both smallbore and air rifle in the second match against Air Force; helped the Nanooks to a win against Kentucky with a 582 in air rifle; shot a 568 in smallbore and a 575 in air rifle at the NCAA Qualifiers.

Prior to Alaska: State Champion for four consecutive years in smallbore 2006-09 and also back-to-back State Champion in air rifle in 2007 and 2008; at the 2006 Great Britain Jr. International Match won the Gold in prone and Silver in 3-pt.

Personal: Son of Justin and Cheryl Franz; enjoys competing in rodeos, riding bareback horses, snowmobiling, 4-wheeling, hunting, and camping; majoring in mechanical engineering.
