Prior to Alaska

Bonnyville Pontiacs (AJHL)

Macaulay played with the Bonnyville Pontiacs for parts of five seasons. He saw time in two games in his first year, 2017-18 and tallied one assist. He then saw another two games in 2018-19, tallying another assist for his lone point. His first full season came in 2019-20 where he saw time in 51 games, scoring one goal and assisting on 13 others for 14 total points. In 2020-21 he played in 16 games, scoring one goal, tallying seven assists and posting eight points. In his final season, he wore the assistant captain's 'A' and skated in 56 games. He lit the lamp on nine occasions, assisted on 33 others and tallied 42 total points. In six playoff games, he scored one goal, assisted on four and tallied five points. He was an JHL Defenseman of the Year nominee as well as the team's Playoff MVP and Defenseman of the Year. In 2021-22 he was an AJHL North All-Star Team member.
