Prior to Alaska: Played two seasons with the Merritt College Thunderbirds in Oakland, California... was a Bay Valley Conference First Team All-Conference selection as well as an all-state performer after leading California junior college players in rebounding with 13.6 rebounds per game... averaged 14 points and 13 rebounds per game in his sophomore season at Merritt CC... tallied 35 points, 27 rebounds and four blocks against Marin for his career-best performance... played one year of high school basketball and flag football at Edison Job Corp Academy in Edison, New Jersey, where he earned Most Improved, Defensive Player of the Year, Job Corp Conference First Team and All-State honors... best prep performance was just shy of a triple-double with 35 points, 27 rebounds and 9 blocks against Lindwood Prep.
