Last season on Oct. 2, the Nanooks nearly sold out the Alaska Airlines Gymnasium with 1451 in attendance for an Alaska victory over UAA. The 'Nooks won last season's Pack the Patty 3-1, the first of three victories over UAA last year. Buy your tickets today to join the fun again this Thursday as we aim for over 1000 fans again! 

Last Time Out
The Nanooks were at home for a pair of matches last week. They opened the week with No. 19 Simon Fraser and fell in four sets. Cori Leavitt led the Nanooks with 15 kills and a .419 swing percentage. Cynphany Henderson had a big outing for the Nanooks, posting 29 assists, 12 digs, and five kills for another double-double. Presley Engelauf added 10 kills and five blocks in the loss. Alaska turned it around that Saturday, defeating RV Western Washington in four sets to improve to 11-5, 3-3 GNAC. Haylee Lyons posted an 18-kill, 16-dig double-double while adding two assists and swinging .313. Cynphany Henderson had another big double-double as well, dishing 44 assists and picking up 11 digs while posting five kills. Kellan Flynn had a match-high 28 digs in the back row for the blue and gold. She added three aces in the win. 

AVCA Top 25
Alaska was one of three GNAC teams in the AVCA top 25 this week, checking in at No. 23 after being No. 22 last week. Simon Fraser was the highest-ranked GNAC team, coming in at No. 18 with 394 points. Central Washington moved up to No. 21 with 191 points and the 'Nooks received 129 points.

Simon Fraser sits atop the GNAC standings after three weeks of GNAC play. Seattle Pacific is currently in second with Central Washington in third before a three-way tie at fourth between the Nanooks, Alaska Anchorage, and Northwest Nazarene. Alaska Anchorage Seawolves (10-6, 3-3 GNAC)

The UAA Seawolves come into Thursday's match riding a one-match losing streak. They split last week against Western Washington and Simon Fraser. On Thursday, Sept. 24, they picked up a five-set win over WWU before dropping their Saturday matchup against Simon Fraser in four sets. Lee Ivakina leads the Seawolves attack with 203 kills and 3.50 kills per set through 16 matches. She has started each match so far this season, not missing a set. Hannah Trotter is the go-to setter for Alaska Anchorage. She has 465 assists through 16 matches, and like Ivakina, has not missed a set. Defensively, Bella Burney and Martina Riba lead the way at the net. Burney has 50.0 total blocks while Riba has 46.0 total blocks. Burney leads the way with eight solo blocks. Anchorage has four with 120+ digs. Mary Nahinu leads the way with 194 while Trotter follows with 170, Ivakina has 137, and Kyana Gabriel has 122 digs.
