Nanooks Rifle Prepares for 2026 Patriot Rifle Conference Championships

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The Nanooks rifle team will compete for its fifth PRC Championship this weekend at the X Count in Fort Wayne, Ind. The championship was moved from Ole Miss to the X Count due to weather concerns in Oxford, Miss.

Last Time Out
The Nanooks shot at home two weeks ago to wrap up their regular season. They hosted TCU and UT Martin on Jan. 24-25 and shot at TVSA and the E.F. Horton Rifle Range in the Patty Center. On day one at TVSA, the Nanooks defeated UT Martin 4731-4630 but fell to TCU 4734-4731. Teagan Perkowski led the Nanooks with an aggregate score of 1188-95x. He was one of five Nanooks in the individual top 10 and placed second. On day two, the Nanooks posted a season-high aggregate score of 4747. They knocked off UT Martin again, 4747-4629 and fell to TCU in another close matchup, 4750-4747. Perkowski, once again, led the Nanooks with another second-place finish and 1189-90x aggregate score.

  • Lucie Kissenberger and Teagan Perkowski lead the Nanooks in aggregate scoring this season. Both sophomores are above 1180 in their scoring. 
  • Kissenberger is the team leader in aggregate average with an 1182.66 with an average smallbore score of 587.583 and air rifle average of 595.083. Her smallbore average leads the Nanooks.
  • Perkowski follows with an aggregate average of 1181. He holds a smallbore average of 585.33 and air rifle average of 595.667. His air rifle average is the team high.
  • Alaska ranks eighth in team averages this season. They hold an aggregate average of 4725.667 and trail both Navy and Ole Miss by less than a point average. They rank sixth in air rifle average with a 2381.667 and in smallbore they are eighth with an average of 2344. 
Season Highs
This past weekend was the second 4740+ performance by the Nanooks rifle team. They last posted a 4740 on Oct. 18 at TVSA as they opened the year against Ohio State. Until Jan. 25, their best aggregate was a 4734, shot on Jan. 18 on campus against Kentucky and Nebraska. Jan. 25 saw them post a new season-high in smallbore with a 2362 and in air rifle they posted their second-best score of the season with a 2385.

This Week's Schedule
The Nanooks will have shooters competing on all three days this week. Tobias Bernhoft-Osa and Lucie Kissenberger will kick off the PRC Championships for the Nanooks on Friday, beginning at 9 a.m. with Bernhoft-Osa shooting smallbore at 9 a.m. AKST. Kissenberger will follow with air rifle at 11:30 a.m. AKST. On Saturday, the Nanooks will begin at 5 a.m. with Teagan Perkowski and Kissenberger. After, at 7:15 a.m., Amanda Pettersen, Noah Meierotto, and Marshall Schmidt will shoot. Finals will follow at 9:45 a.m. AKST. 

Sunday will be the final day, culminating with air rifle. Noah Meierotto and Amanda Pettersen will shoot first at 4 a.m., followed by Teagan Perkowski, Marshall Schmidt, and Tobias Bernhoft-Osa at 6 a.m. The finals will begin at 8 a.m.

PRC Championships History
The Patriot Rifle Conference has held a championship every year since 2014 after its inaugural season in 2013. Alaska Fairbanks has claimed four PRC Championships (2014, 2015, 2022, 2025). TCU has a conference-high seven championships, and Air Force has one, winning the 2019 championship. Seven teams make up the PRC. Air Force, Alaska, Nebraska, Ohio State, Ole Miss, TCU, and UTEP. 

What's Next
Following this weekend's conference championship, the Nanooks will host one more home match on Saturday, Feb. 21 at home against the UTEP Miners in their annual NCAA Qualifier. That match will feature coffee and donuts for those in attendance at the E.F. Horton Rifle Range and will also be senior day. Following this match, the Nanooks will await the NCAA Selection Show to see if they will compete at the NCAA Championships in March.
