HONOLULU, Hawaii – The Alaska Nanooks swimming team is in Hawaii this week for a dual meet against the University of Hawaii. The meet is set for 6 p.m. AKST on Friday at the Duke Kahanamoku Aquatic Complex in Honolulu.

The Nanooks ended 2025 in Las Vegas, Nev., at the UNLV Invite on Dec. 15-17, with Dorka Dancsok, McKenzie Fazio, Kitti Marton, Cosima Schmiedel and Giorgia Merlo competing in the meet. The 'Nooks ended the three-day meet in seventh place with 38 points, recording 15 season-best times, six personal-best times and six top-10 performances in program history.
The meet was highlighted by Dorka Dancsok setting a program record in the 400-yard IM, finishing the event in 4:24.90.

- Dorka Dancsok sits at the top of the PCSC in the 200-yard breaststroke after her 2:18.81 at the NW Collegiate Invite earlier this season. That time is good for 35th in Division II. She ranks second and third in the PCSC in the 50 (30.16) and 100-yard breaststroke (1:05.07), respectively.
- Dancsok's 2:04.02 in the 200-yard IM is second in the PCSC and 20th in DII. Her 4:24.90 in the 400-yard IM ranks third in the PCSC and 12th in the nation.
- Janci Pangburn ranks eighth and seventh in the PCSC in the 50 (23.94) and 100-yard freestyle (52.44), respectively.
- McKenzie Fazio's 51.96 in the 100-yard freestyle ranks fourth in the PCSC, and her 1:53.68 in the 200-yard freestyle is tied for the seventh-best time in the conference. She sits fifth in the 50-yard backstroke with a 26.78 and fourth in the 100-yard backstroke with a 57.23.
- Kitti Marton has the fourth-best PCSC time in the 1000-yard freestyle, posting a 10:38.35 in the event, while her 17:46.40 in the 1650-yard freestyle is good for third in the conference.
- Cosima Schmiedel sits third in the PCSC in the 200-yard butterfly with a 2:06.77. She is sixth in both the 50-yard butterfly with a 26.64 and the 400-yard IM with a 4:32.46.

- Hawaii sits at 3-2 in dual meets this season, going 1-1 in the Big West. The Rainbow Wahine began the new year with dual wins over BYU, 163-136, and Pacific Lutheran, 136-72.
- They placed fourth at the Triton Invite on Oct. 10-11 and second at the SMU Invite on Nov. 19-22.
Looking Ahead
The Nanooks host Westmont next week for their final home meets of the season. The 'Nooks and Warriors face off on Friday, Jan. 16, at 5 p.m. and Saturday, Jan. 17, at 10 a.m.
