Rifle Welcomes TCU and UT Martin for Two-Day Double Dual Match

FAIRBANKS - The Nanooks rifle team will compete in a two-day double dual match this weekend against TCU and UT Martin. The matches will be shot in Fairbanks at TVSA and the E.F. Horton Rifle Range in the Patty Center.

Last Time Out
The Nanooks are coming off of hosting Kentucky and Nebraska last week in Fairbanks. On day one, the Nanooks fell to both in the three-team double dual. They shot a 4730 while Kentucky shot a 4759 and Nebraska fired a 4746. On day two, the Nanooks fell to Nebraska 4740-4734 but they defeated the Wildcats of Kentucky 4734-4733.

  • Lucie Kissenberger remains the top shooter for the Nanooks in aggregate average. The sophomore is shooting an aggregate average score of 1182.7. She is the only Nanooks shooter in the 1180's. 
  • Teagan Perkowski follows in second with an average of 1179.5. Just behind him in third is Amanda Pettersen with an average of 1178.314. 
  • Kissenberger shot a pair of 1187's last weekend, matching her second-best score of the season for the second and third time. 
  • Freshman Marshall Schmidt fired a new career-high on Sunday with an aggregate score of 1186. He posted a 590 in smallbore, a new career-high, and a 596 in air. 
  • Tobias Bernhost-Osa also fired a new career-high. The senior from Norway shot an 1182 aggregate with a 598 in air and a 584 in smallbore. 
  • Alaska currently sits in eighth in the nation for team averages. They have fired an average score of 4723.
What's to Come
This weekend will wrap up the regular season for the Nanooks. They will head to the Patriot Rifle Conference Championships on Feb. 7-8. Ole Miss plays host to the 2026 PRC Championships in just their second season as a conference member. The Nanooks will return home on Feb. 21 to shoot their NCAA Qualifier against UTEP and celebrate their seniors for senior day. 

Meet the Opponents
TCU Horned Frogs (3-2, 0-0 PRC)
TCU comes into this weekend on a one-match winning streak, having defeated Ohio State on Monday, Jan. 19. TCU currently ranks third in team averages with a 4736.3 average. Katie Zaun leads the efforts for TCU with an average of 1188.778 while Alexandra Rosenlew follows with an 1181.667. Two more TCU shooters average 1180+.

UT Martin Skyhawks (0-7, 0-0 OVC)
UT Martin is looking for their first head-to-head victory of the season. They have already seen the Nanooks earlier this season on Nov. 9, 2025 in Martin, Tenn. Alaska defeated the Skyhawks 4714-4627. Sophia Ashford leads the Skyhawks with an aggregate average of 1162.143. Joseph Kovach follows with an 1155.429 average.
