Trzinski Named Interim Head Athletic Trainer for Alaska Nanooks

FAIRBANKS – The Alaska Nanooks Department of Athletics has announced that Zach Trzinski will serve as the Interim Head Athletic Trainer for the 2025-26 season.

Trzinski enters his fourth year with the Nanooks after spending the past three seasons providing care and coverage for all 10 sports in the Nanooks Department. "We're excited to welcome Zach back as our Head Athletic Trainer for Nanooks Athletics," said Brock Anundson, Director of Athletics for the Alaska Nanooks. "His experience, expertise, and familiarity with our programs make him a great asset to our staff, coaches, and student-athletes in the year ahead."

Trzinski joined Alaska after working with the Anchorage Wolverines and Eagle River High School through Orthopedic Physicians of Alaska. With the Wolverines, he managed medical care for practices, home games and interstate travel, while also handling supply orders and coordinating coverage schedules. At Eagle River, he provided care for a wide range of activities including football, volleyball, tennis, cheer/gymnastics, swim and dive, wrestling, cross country, skiing, basketball, hockey, soccer and track and field.

Before moving to Anchorage, Trzinski gained extensive clinical experience through rotations with the Minnesota Wilderness and the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. With the Wilderness, he spent 27 weeks covering practices and competitions across multiple states, and with UW-Stevens Point, he provided treatments, rehab support, and coverage for multiple collegiate sports.

From 2010 to 2013, Trzinski served in the United States Army as part of the 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg, N.C. During his service, he completed medical training and provided immediate trauma care in the Airborne Infantry.

Trzinski is B.O.C. certified, licensed in Alaska, and has completed Bloodborne Pathogens Training and Emergency Medical Response. He is also a member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association (NATA).
