LACEY, Wash. - The Nanooks men's basketball team lost to Seattle Pacific in the 2025 GNAC Championships Quarterfinals. The 81-47 final ended Alaska's season at 14-14, 10-8 GNAC.
How it Happened
In the first half, the Nanooks shot just 28.1% from the floor and trailed 35-21.
Ketan Sidhu connected from deep to open the games scoring, but that was the only three the Nanooks would make in the first half. Alaska maintained a one-possession lead through the opening 5:21 before Jaxon Nap completed a three-point play to give SPU a 10-9 lead.
Isaiah Saams-Hoy connected on a pull-up jumper, regaining the lead at 11-10 but that was the last lead of the first. SPU ran their lead out to six before
Isaiah Saams-Hoy cut their run. Saams-Hoy made back-to-back buckets at the 6:55 mark, bringing the Nanooks to back within five but that was the closest they'd come.
Before halftime, the Falcons grew their lead to 14, taking the 35-21 lead into the locker room.
Out of the break, SPU grew their lead to 29 at the 13:39 mark. The Nanooks managed to chip away, pulling to within 22 at the 9:56 mark, but the deficit proved too much for Alaska.
Inside the Numbers
- Isaiah Saams-Hoy led the Nanooks with 17 points. He grabbed six rebounds, had three assists and a steal.
- Jalai O'Keith had eight points and eight rebounds. He added two blocks, an assist, and a steal.
- The Nanooks shot only 30.2% from the floor and 14.8% from three.
