SAN DIEGO, Calif. - The Nanooks volleyball team is a day away from their first-ever appearance in the NCAA Volleyball Tournament, and they open up the West Region Championships with a familiar foe, the Alaska Anchorage Seawolves.

Last Time Out
The Nanooks are back on the court after wrapping up the 2025 regular season on their home court on Nov. 20 and Nov. 22 with Seattle Pacific and Montana State Billings. The Nanooks swept both the Falcons and Yellowjackets to finish the season 23-5, 14-4 GNAC. With the wins, and help around the league, the Nanooks claimed their first-ever GNAC Championship, claiming the Co-Champ honor with Alaska Anchorage, Central Washington, and Simon Fraser.
GNAC All-Conference
The Nanooks had four named to the GNAC All-Conference Teams.
Tessa Onaga and
Mikala Henderson both earned First Team honors while Onaga also claimed the GNAC Defensive Player of the Year award for her efforts in the back row.
Elena Guc and
Cynphany Henderson both added Honorable Mention All-GNAC honors after stellar years for the blue and gold. Click

All-West Region
Mikala Henderson and
Tessa Onaga both earned All-West Region honors on Wednesday, Dec. 3. Henderson earned AVCA Honorable Mention All-West Region honors while Onaga earned AVCA Honorable Mention and D2CCA Second Team All-West Region honors. Click

Familiar Foe
The Nanooks will face the Seawolves for the third time this season. Alaska has a four-match winning streak going into Thursday's meeting after sweeping UAA last season and this season. In this year's matchups, the Nanooks defeated UAA in four sets in Fairbanks on Oct. 2 and again in four sets on Oct. 31 in Anchorage.
Rest of the Field
The Nanooks are one of five GNAC schools to be in the West Region this season. They join Alaska Anchorage (4), Central Washington (7), Simon Fraser (2), and Western Washington (6). The Nanooks are on the side of the host school, Point Loma (1). PLNU faces Cal State San Bernardino (8), and the winners of the two matches will play Friday night.
