LAS VEGAS, Nev. – The Alaska Nanooks swimming team is in Las Vegas on Monday, Dec. 15, for a three-day meet at the UNLV Invite. Dorka Dancsok, McKenzie Fazio, Kitti Marton, Cosima Schmiedel and Giorgia Merlo are the five Nanook swimmers who will compete in the meet.

Last Time Out
The Nanooks were at the Northwest Collegiate Invitational on Nov. 21-23, where they placed fifth with 754 points. Dorka Dancsok recorded three NCAA B Cuts during the meet, hitting the mark in the 200-yard breaststroke with a 2:18.81, 200-yard IM with a 2:04.02 and 400-yard IM with a 4:26.99. The Nanooks posted 63 season bests, 22 personal bests and 10 Top-10 performances in program history.

- McKenzie Fazio is tied for the seventh-best time in the PCSC in the 200-yard freestyle with a 1:53.68. She has the fifth-best time in the 50-yard backstroke (26.78) and the fourth-best time in the 100-yard backstroke (57.23).
- Kitti Marton ranks 10th in the conference in the 500-yard freestyle with a 5:10.49, fourth in the 1000-yard freestyle with a 10:38.35 and third in the 1650-yard freestyle with a 17:46.40.
- Dorka Dancsok's 30.37 in the 50-yard breaststroke is the second-best time in the PCSC. She ranks fourth in the 100-yard breaststroke with a 1:05.24, second in the 200-yard IM with a 2:04.02 (18th in DII), third in the 400-yard IM with a 4:26.99 (21st in DII) and leads the conference in the 200-yard breaststroke with a 2:18.81 (35th in DII).
- Cosima Schmiedel ranks fourth in the PCSC in the 200-yard butterfly with a 2:07.88.

Looking Ahead
The Nanooks are back in the pool after the new year with a double-dual vs. Whitman and Hawaii. The meet will be held on Jan. 10 at the Duke Kahanamoku Aquatic Complex in Manoa, Hawaii.
