STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, Colo. - The Nanooks Nordic ski team wrapped-up the Colorado Invitational with a seventh-place finish and 219 team points. The men's team finished the weekend with 117 total points while the women's team posted 102. 

In the Nordic standings, the Nanooks finished fifth.

The women's team kicked off the racing on Saturday morning at Howelsen Hill. Only three Nanooks raced in the 20k classic and Mariel Pulles posted the top-finish for the 'Nooks, cracking the top-10 for the second-straight day. She finished the 20k mass start in eighth-place with a finishing time of 1:09:16.6, earning 23 points for the 'Nooks. The second finisher for Alaska was Elsie Weiss. The freshman finished in 28th-place with a time of 1:18:01.1 and earned 14 points for the Nanooks. The final Nanooks women's racer and the final point-scorer for the Nanooks was Aila Berrigan. 

Berrigan rounded out the scoring with 13 points and a 31st-place finish. She crossed the finish line in 1:20:28.8. The women's team scored 50 points on day two of the CU Invitational. 

In the men's 20k classic, five Nanooks raced. Christopher Kalev led the way for the Nanooks and cracked the top-10 with a 20k time of 1:01:00.0, earning 22 points for Alaska. Mike Ophoff just missed the top-10, finishing in 13th-place with a time of 1:01:56.6 and earned 19 points for the men's team and Nanooks overall team score. 

The final Nanooks racer to score team points was Ben Dohlby. The freshman followed right behind Ophoff in 14th-place with a time of 1:02:17.7 to earn 18 points. 

Aidan Hay and Jace Peters rounded out the racing for the Nanooks. The pair of freshmen finished in 25th and 26th with Hay taking 25th with a finishing time of 1:06:18.5. Peters followed Hay by 33 seconds and took 26th with a finishing time of 1:06:51.8. 

Alaska is back in action next weekend at the Denver Invitational.
