FAIRBANKS - The Alaska Nanooks ski team wrapped up the Nordic Cup this morning with classic sprints at the UAF Competition Ski Trails. The Nanooks trailed Alaska Anchorage by 4.5 seconds on day two, falling to the Seawolves by 55.5 seconds over the two days.
Cole Flowers was the top finisher for the men in the classic sprint, finishing second in 2:46.14. Gabriele Rigaudo and Ben Dohlby finished sixth and seventh with times of 3:50.24 and 2:51.72, respectively. Philipp Moosmayer (2:53.42), Josh Baurick (2:55.00) and Aidan Hay (2:55.02) finished eighth, ninth and tenth, while Blake Hanley (2:57.56) and Matyas Pavek (3:00.54) took 13th and 17th. The men finished 7.89 seconds behind Alaska Anchorage.
Kendall Kramer won the women's race, finishing 3.8 seconds ahead of the second-place finisher in 3:20.92. Tabitha Williams crossed the line in third, finishing in 3:25.30 and Elsie Weiss picked up a seventh-place finish with a 3:33.44. Katharine Brigham (3:35.93), Aila Berrigan (3:43.34) and Lucca Duke (4:15.19) rounded things out for the 'Nooks, finishing in ninth, 11th and 12th. The women won their race, finishing 3.39 seconds ahead of the Seawolves with a top-three time of 10:19.66.
The Nanooks hit the trails again in January when they travel to UAA for the U.S. Nationals on Jan. 2-7.
