FAIRBANKS - Former Nanooks volleyball player Lily Stewart has signed a professional contract with KVF Ferizaj. The team is based out of Ferizaj, Kosovo and competes in the Kosovo Superliga.
Stewart officially signed and joined the team on Nov. 4 and joins KVF Ferizaj in the middle of their season.Â
Stewart played with the Nanooks for one season and in her time was a consistent attack offensively. In 32 matches played, she appeared in 105 sets. She provided 227 kills with a .241 hit percentage on 614 total attacks. She had a 2.16 kills/set average, blocked 67 attacks, two solo and 65 assisted for 0.64 blocks/set and added four assists. She also put up 39 digs and had a career-high 20 kills on Sept. 9, 2023 against Stanislaus State.Â

Said Nanooks head coach Brian Scott, "Lily is a great athlete and always gave her best when she stepped on the court. KVF Ferizaj got a great athlete, and I'm certain Lily will do great things for their team just as she did for ours." Following Stewart's year with the Nanooks, she earned the 2023 GNAC Volleyball Newcomer of the Year honor. She also joins former-GNAC and Seattle Pacific Falcon, Maddie Batiste, on the KVF Ferizaj roster.
