BELLINGHAM, Wash. - The Alaska Nanooks men's and women's cross country teams are set to race in the 2024 Great Northwest Athletic Conference Championships this Saturday at the Sudden Valley Golf Course in Washington. The men's 8k will start at 9:00 a.m. AKST, with the women's 6k starting at 10:00 a.m. AKST.

Blue and Gold in the Top 10
The Nanook women are going into the weekend with quite the spotlight after they emerged as 10th in the FloTrack College XC DII Poll presented by HOKA this last week. Their rise into the top-ten comes after their success at the Lewis Crossover where they placed fifth out of the 36 teams represented. The women finished with a time of 1:49:41, had an average pace of 21:56 and scored an even 200 points to secure their placement in Illinois. 

The Nanook men also took large strides at the Lewis Crossover where sophomore Ben Dohlby placed in the top-10, finishing ninth overall in the men's 8k. Dohlby crossed the line first for the 'Nooks with a time of 25:51.30, setting a pace of 5:12/m and putting a spotlight on the blue and gold for the weekend. 

Look for these 'Nooks!
Kendall Kramer proves herself yet again to be the runner to watch going into the weekend after being named GNAC Runner of the Week for the third time this season. She also finds herself ranked 19th (climbing +167 places) in the FloTrack College XC DII Individual Poll after her second place finish at the Lewis Crossover two weeks ago.

Ben Dohlby is one to watch as we enter this exciting weekend after his top 10 success at the Lewis Crossover. His 25:51.30 finish at Lewis marks a new collegiate PR in the 8k, beating his previous best of 26:36.1 by over 45 seconds in which he raced during the 2023 GNAC Championships last season.
