Last Time Out
This is the first match for the Nanooks rifle team since Dec. 6, 2023 when they traveled to Colorado to face the Air Force Academy. The 'Nooks grabbed a 4719-4709 victory over the Falcons, their fifth victory of the season.
Rachael Charles led the way for the Nanooks with an 1187. Sára Karasová followed with an 1184,
Katrina Demerle fired a score of 1177 and
Akihito Shimizu was the final Nanook with an 1170+, firing a score of 1174.

- The Nanooks have not shot against Navy since Nov. 14, 2021 when they visited the Midshipmen.
- That match against Navy saw the Nanooks break the then-NCAA record for the aggregate score and smallbore record. They posted a 4749 aggregate and 2371 in smallbore.
- Navy head coach, Mike Anti, is the father of Nanooks head coach Will Anti, and has been there since May 2017.
- Rachael Charles currently ranks sixth in the nation for aggregate average score. The sophomore is shooting an average of 1185.334 while Karasová follows in ninth in the nation with an average of 1182.833.
- Alaska is averaging the third-best team aggregate score in NCAA rifle. They are firing an average of 4723.334, trailing only TCU and West Virginia. TCU is second with an average of 4735.556 and West Virginia is first with an average of 4743.
CRCA Top-20
The latest CRCA Top-20 came out on Wednesday, Jan. 17 and had the 'Nooks ranked #4 in the nation. They follow West Virginia at number one, TCU at number two and Kentucky at number three. Georgia Southern rounded out the top-five at number five. The top-eight teams qualify for the NCAA Championships in March and here is how the top-eight looks as of Wednesday.

What's to Come
The Nanooks will be on the road the entire second-half of the regular-season. They will not return home until Feb. 17. Before that match, they'll face Navy twice in Annapolis, Md., they'll face Ohio State and Air Force in a PRC matchup in Columbus, Ohio and then they'll compete at the 2024 PRC Championships in Fort Wayne, Ind. on Feb. 3-4.
The Feb. 17 home match will be at the E.F. Horton Rifle Range and will be against UTEP. The Nanooks will host the Miners in their 2024 NCAA Qualifier match as well as their senior day match. The NCAA Rifle Championships are scheduled for March 8-9, 2024 in Morgantown, WV at the West Virginia Coliseum.
