FORT WORTH, Texas - The Alaska Nanooks rifle team fell to the TCU Horned Frogs on Sunday, Nov. 5. The loss drops the 'Nooks to 2-2, 2-2 PRC on the season in head-to-head matches.Â
Rachael Charles led the Nanooks in the individual aggregate standings for a second-straight day as the sophomore posted an aggregate score of 1183 to take third. Sára Karasová followed in fifth-place, posting an aggregate of 1182.

Elli Spencer were the final Nanooks to place in the top-10 individually as Shimizu shot an aggregate of 1179 for a sixth-place finish. Spencer took eighth with her aggregate score of 1176.
TCU grabbed the win in the smallbore discipline, firing a 2356 to the Nanooks' 2340. In smallbore, Charles, once again, took third. She fired a smallbore score of 589 to lead Alaska. Karasová followed behind in fourth with a 587. Shimizu, Spencer and Gonzalez Mazo followed in the top-10 as Shimizu took seventh in the smallbore discipline with a score of 583. Spencer took ninth with a 581 and Gonzalez Mazo took 10th with a 581.
Matthew Stout and Tobias Bernhoft-Osa were the final Nanooks to shoot smallbore. Stout fired a 572 and Bernhoft-Osa shot a 561. The two did not shoot air.
In air, the Nanooks fired a 2381 while TCU posted a 2390 in the discipline.
Akihito Shimizu led the way in the air rifle standings as he fired a 596.
Katrina Demerle took sixth, also shooting a 596. Demerle only shot in air rifle today. The Nanooks took places six through nine as Karasová followed Demerle in seventh with a 595. Spencer took eighth with a 595 and Charles took ninth with a 594.
Marina Gonzalez Mazo was the final Nanook in the air rifle standings with a 592.Â
The 'Nooks return home and will not shoot an NCAA match until Nov. 19 when Akron and Kentucky come to town for a three-team matchup at TVSA.Â
