Nanooks Welcome Seawolves for Weekend Matchup

FAIRBANKS – The Alaska Nanooks women's basketball team is set to host their in-state rivals, the Alaska Anchorage Seawolves on Saturday, Jan. 7 at 3:00 p.m.

Last Time Out
The Nanooks were swept on their road trip to end 2022. They traveled to Burnaby, B.C. where they fell to the Simon Fraser Red Leafs before falling to Western Washington in Bellingham, Wash. In the SFU loss, Emma McKenney led the way with 20 points on four three's and 6-7 from the free-throw line. In the loss at WWU, McKenney led again with 17 points on 3-5 shooting from deep and 6-8 shooting from the free-throw line.

The Seawolves come into this weekend's matchup having won their last game at Simon Fraser after falling to Western Washington. The Seawolves fell to #8 WWU 104-51 before rebounding for an 86-69 win over the Red Leafs.  
 
Vishe' Rabb leads the Seawolves through 13 games averaging 16.9 points per game on 42.7% shooting from the floor, 34.9% from deep and 86.8% from the free-throw line. Jahnna Hajdukovich joins Rabb in double-digits with 10.6 points per game. Rabb and Kate Robertson lead UAA in rebounding as Rabb grabs 7.4 per game and Robertson grabs 6.5 per game. Nicole Pinckney is the main distributor with 43 assists on the season.
